hello fellow anglers , welcome to BLESSED MOON CHARTERS..
its spring time in the panhandle , and we all know what that means...some great fishing opportunities .
the water temp is in the mid 60s , the squid and bait fish are starting to show up , and the fish re getting active...
the trout are emerging from their winter haunts and back onto the flats , redfish cruising the shallows..
closer to the inlet the pompano , sheephead , bull reds and flounder are eating well , and then theres the long awaited spanish mackerel...what i can say about them is , THEYYRE HEEERREE..the first run has shown up , and if you know where to look , can have some good rod bending action...they can be caught on just about anything , but the prefferred methods are either trolling gotcha plugs and clark spoons , or drifting and casting a gotcha or similar lure..they hit aggressively , fight good on light tackle , and if prepared right , eat pretty darn good on a sammich...spring has sprung folks , its time to do that thang we all love to do...and as always , ive got a bent rod with YOUR name on it...be well , be BLESSED , and hope to see ya soon...capn steve
